Why Treasured Honeycomb?

People ask why I chose the name Treasured Honeycomb.

The answer begins with a verse God gently brought me as I was pondering the idea of building this community:

"Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." — Proverbs 16:24

At first, I thought this verse was simply about speaking kindly. But I've come to realize it reaches much deeper than that.

The words we believe about God, the words we speak to those we love, and the stories we tell to make sense of the people and things happening around us quietly shape the atmosphere of our hearts, our homes, and our communities.

When I begin believing discouraging stories, I become less patient, less joyful, and less present. But God's gracious words tell a better story. They remind me that I am deeply loved, that my labor is never wasted, and that the ordinary work of loving my family has eternal value.

That's why the honeycomb has become such a meaningful picture to me.

A honeycomb is built one small cell at a time. By itself, each cell seems ordinary. Together, they become something remarkably strong—a place that protects what is precious and nourishes life.

I think God builds our homes the same way.

One gracious word.

One faithful choice.

One ordinary day at a time.

That's the vision behind Treasured Honeycomb.

To help one another exchange the hurried, discouraging stories of everyday life for the life-giving words of Christ, while building homes where those gracious words become the story we live by.

Because I truly believe the greatest treasures God has entrusted to us are people.

What are we building together?

I don't believe God changes the world only through extraordinary moments.

I think He often changes it around dinner tables, in bedtime prayers, through ordinary conversations, and in the countless unseen moments of everyday family life.

That's the vision behind Treasured Honeycomb.

Not simply encouraging individual women, but helping cultivate homes where Christ's gracious words become the story families live by.

Because every home touches a neighborhood.

Every neighborhood shapes a community.

And every act of faithfulness, no matter how ordinary it seems, becomes part of something much bigger than ourselves.

I'd love for you to build that kind of home with me.

A Note from Mandy

If we've never met, I'm so glad you're here!

My favorite days begin with my Bible, worship music, and a great cup of coffee. From there, you'll usually find me homeschooling our three children or loading them into the car in search of our next adventure—usually with as many friends as I can convince to come along.

Whether we're paddleboarding, hiking, exploring a new park, or heading into the woods for the afternoon, I love watching my kids grow in confidence as they learn to take healthy risks, solve problems, and discover the world God created.

By nature, I'm someone who loves people. I love hearing their stories, learning from their experiences, and noticing the unique ways God has gifted them to bless the world.

When I'm home and the kids are busy, you'll usually find me listening to a podcast or sermon, reading a great book, or collecting ideas that help me keep my eyes on Christ and love the people around me more intentionally.

I'm so grateful our paths have crossed, and I hope you'll feel right at home here.

I'd love to have you join the Treasured Honeycomb as we encourage one another and learn - together - to build homes where Christ's gracious words become the story we live by.
